N-Gene and ORF Gene
While no real Covid-19 samples available, we tried the positive controls for Covid-19 with N and ORF genes. The theoretical minimum number of copies for N and ORF genes are 7.1 and 5.7 , respectively.
NA Purification Methods for Genetic Assays
Biomics offers a full line of NA purification tools including NA-Filters, NA-red-Tips, sc-SPE Spin Column, and magnetic beads (mb-SPE). In addition to NA extraction, Biomics also offers products related to Covid-19 testing like Swab, Testing kits, and sample collection plates.
Rapid High Throughput
Since NA-Filtration process can be finished in 1 min, it is possible to complete the whole assay process within 10 min if it is combined with a rapid PCR, which can complete 30 cycles in 3 min. This assay can be performed on 96 well plates and/or 384 well plates for high throughput.
The restrictive dynamic SPE (red-SPE) based NA-red-Tips are developed to replace magnetic beads (mb-SPE) and can be used in much faster and easier way.

Point of Care
Both NA-Filters (where in syringe or spin column format) and NA-red-Tips are suited for Point-of-Care (POC) applications of Covid-19 assay. By combining them with a loop-mediated isothermal amplification (LAMP) technique, the whole process of Covid-19 assays can be accomplished within any POC setting as long as we have a 65 °C bath available. Alternatively, it can also be done at room temperature if they are followed with an iAMP Covid-19 detection kit.
